It’s been around 60 years since the prefabs on Beattie Avenue were built, an achievement considering they weren't designed to last this long. The past 30 years have been a compromise between the costs of sustaining the properties vs the costs to redevelop them. The time when we need to consider the latter has come. At this stage no plans other than the decision to be redevelop has been made.
Today (21/03/17) all affected customers received a letter highlighting that the decision to rebuild has been made. The customer consultation period has now begun.
How does the customer consultation period work?
- From this afternoon we'll be having telephone conversations with customers arranging a time when we can visit them to discuss the news, answer any questions and discuss their needs. These visits will happen across 28/03/17 and 29/03/17.
- Following our visits we'll collect the feedback and hold a public consultation to detail the findings. This meeting will be held at The Three Counties Hotel between 12 and 7pm on April 12th.
- Each household will receive a summary letter after the consultation summarising their needs, followed by a general FAQ’s sheet.
